Hi all, I WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME ALL OF YOU TO THIS SPECIAL MARKING OF THE RETIREMENT OF BU1 RICARDO TREVINO.
I WANT TO MARK THIS, THE FINAL STAGE IN A VERY FULL AND PRODUCTIVE 20-YEAR MILITARY CAREER. WE ARE ALSO GATHERED TO SAY THANKS TO A GOOD SEABEE. THANKS FOR HIS MANY CONTRIBUTIONS, WHICH IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY HAVE MADE OUR NAVY SEABEES A STRONGER AND MORE CAPABLE FORCE; IN OUR NEVER-ENDING FIGHT FOR PEACE IN THIS SOMETIMES TROUBLED WORLD. TO SAY THANKS FOR HIS MANY DEDICATED HOURS AND PERSONAL INITIATIVE THAT HAVE HELPED TO MAKE THE NCF AND THE SEABEES THE PROUD PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION IT IS TODAY. THANKS BU1 FOR BEING THE TYPE OF LEADER THAT HAS ENSURED THE NEXT GENERATION OF SEABEES ARE READY TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF TOMORROW. JUST AS THIS IS THE END OF ONE PHASE IN HIS LIFE, IT IS THE BEGINNING OF ANOTHER. SO OUR READING TODAY ALSO GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO WISH HIM EVERY SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE AS HE LOOKS FORWARD TO NEW CHALLENGES AND REWARDS.

“A SEABEE IS A SEABEE ON A JOBSITE IN THE WORLD BUILDING FOR OTHERS”
I AM PROUD TO HAVE SERVED WITH YOU AND WILL PRAY FOR YOUR SAFE RETURN HOME.
I WILL BE WITH YOU IN SPRIRT UNTIL YOU RETURN FROM YOUR DEPOLYMENT’S FROM THIS DAY ON.
TO YOU I AM YOUR BROTHER, YOUR FRIEND.
WITH A FEELING OF SADNESS,I KNOW THAT FROM THIS DAY ON, I WON’T FIND MYSELF IN THE BACK OF A 5 TON, AT 2100 HOURS HEADED BACK TO CAMP COVINGTON IN GUAM; AFTER A CONCRETE POUR. OR LOOK UP AND SEE YOU EATING IN THE CHOW HALL WITH ME IN A WAR ZONE FAR FROM HOME. NOT TO FORGET RUNNNG AT 0530 DOWN HUENEME WAY FOR MONDAY PT.
NOW, I HAVE BEEN SENT TO A PLACE THAT I MAY REST FROM ALL THE PAIN FROM THE NEVER ENDING FEX AND JOB SITES THAT I HAVE GIVEN MY 100% TO. MY TRUE LOVE HAS BEEN THE U.S. NAVY SEABEES AND WITH A TEAR IN MY EYE AND PAIN IN MY HEART I SAY….. May you have Sunny Work days and plenty of WIP (Work in place).
